An instructional video I did on how to hold the blade and apply joint compound to the surface being skim coated. Its best to use about a 30 degree angle when pulling off on the surface and going over the material lightly but firm. This is the second coat, so I wanted to be smoother then the first coat.

Painting over Smoke and Fire Damage

I recently repaired a ceiling and walls that was damaged by a small fire caused by a runaway candle. The customer got a quote from the company that handled the initial clean up. She got a better quote from me to paint the room. I used a good primer and painted the ceiling and walls over. The space looked great and I was able to complete the job in the time frame requested by the client. This was in a Lower Manhattan apartment in New York City
